Ensuring Broadband Access for All
A reliable broadband connection is essential to participating in our modern world and economy. That’s why it is so shocking to realize there are many parts of rural Loudoun County and Prince William County that still do not have access to broadband. Rural schools and residents who live outside of service provider zones are at risk without the emergency services and and opportunities for education that the internet provides. There is a critical need and I plan to continue doing what I can to ensure that need is met.
I am proud to be a part of the Western Loudoun Telecommunication Initiative, which is working to expedite the expansion of privately owned telecommunications infrastructure in underserved areas of the county. I hope to go to Richmond and continue my work to bring broadband to rural areas.
Government must send a clear message to private internet infrastructure and service providers, that local and state government wants them to serve our county’s internet needs and that elected leaders are committed to removing barriers to achieve that end.
